Fixed unzip bug: some games failed to unpack (eg. Red Eclipse)

Fixed crash hell if an installed game is delisted by the server

Now shows game version and size (lower right corner)

Added visible progress meter for system/data updates

Made download error messages a little less cryptic

The version and size information is based on already existing data. This info has been part of the dataset for a while, it just hasn't been displayed anywhere. Not all games have a version string though. If missing it will just say "Version: unknown".

Yesterday I reinstalled Tiggit to start downloading some decent games, ran into Red Eclipse and figured I'd give it a go.

The download progress percentage goes up to 4%, then an error dialog pops up saying "ZIP error: Error decompressing data - size mismatch".

Can anyone reproduce it? It seems to me that either the server cancels the download after a while, or I have leftover trash in my cache from the first time I tried to download and that's preventing it from running. Any thoughts?

Hello to all!

I'm going to try to make a record of all the Tiggit Games I enjoy, like or just feel curious about. Right now, I'm going for the "check out the game play" kind of recording.

So without further ado, here is my first "Let's play":

"Mood Invaders":

Moon Invaders is awesome for a 48 h game ludum dare, I just love the mix between tower defense and space invaders. I think I got the hang of it after reading the help, but man, the first 15 min of playing without having a clue, those were the most exciting and frustrating I had playing this little gem.

This are my first video game recordings, any suggestion is more than welcome. Enjoy!

(By the way, I'll be posting my other game recordings in this thread.)

Here is another one, fresh from the "recording oven":

"Hydra Castle Labyrinth":

This one was a little surprise, it's a really nice game, I think it's well done, the only problem I found was that the music was too loud to listen to the sound effects, but other than that, it's great actually. The pixel art it's fantastic, the color scheme and the whole feel, it just looks like something I could had play on the SNES.

Give it a try!

Just reporting a _very_ minor bug: The shortcut that is placed on the desktop says "Tiggit Game Innstaller" with two n's.

Hey,

I was thinking of hosting a game night. Members of the forum would post their in-game/service names and we would pick a multiplayer (online) game and play together from time to time.

For the first night I was thinking - OpenArena.

Xfire Name: Megazell
Rapter Name: Megazell

Wednesday Night - 10:30 PM EST.

What say you all?

[FIXED] Problems with Maldita Castilla and Brogue (and maybe Spelunky)

Brogue and Maldita Castilla aren't downloading. When I click install on either of those games, Tiggit gives me this error for Maldita Castilla:

and this error for Brogue:

The OS is Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit. I've downloaded both of these games from their respective websites and they run fine. This may have already been fixed in the upcoming 0.89 release, but I thought I'd point this out anyway.

As for Spelunky, version 1.3 is available here. This is a community release and the official version is still at 1.1, but this is essentially the vanilla game with bugfixes. I can respect if you want to keep the official version in Tiggit, though.

Time for another short update:

Tiggit 0.89 is right around the corner. All major coding is finished, only thing left is testing and releasing. Barring any surprise bugs I guesstimate a release on Tuesday.

This release fixes as serious bug that breaks several games, see here for details. Other than that it's mostly backend work on the install/update system (updates actually WORK now.) I'll post more details when it's out.

Games: I've now added over 30 new games to the database, which will be available soon after the new release. Including some pretty well known ones Stay tuned.
